Frequently asked questions

What are meta tags?

Meta tags are lines in your page's HTML head that tell search engines and social sites your page title, description, share image and more. Visitors do not see them, but Google, X, LinkedIn, Slack and AI assistants read them.

What size should an og:image be?

Use 1200 x 630 pixels (a 1.91:1 ratio), PNG or JPG, under 5 MB, on a public HTTPS URL. Keep important text away from the edges.

Why does my link share without an image?

Usually the og:image tag is missing, uses a relative or HTTP URL, points to a file that needs a login, or the social site cached an older version of your page.

How long should a meta description be?

Around 120 to 160 characters. Say what the product does and for whom. Google may rewrite it, but a clear description still helps clicks and AI summaries.

Does this tool store my URL?

No. We fetch the page once to read its public HTML and show you the result. Nothing is saved.
